Nick Shaw is a partner in the personal injury & accidents team, based at our Lincoln office.
Nick leads the personal injury team in Lincoln. He has almost 20 years of experience dealing with a wide variety of personal injury claims, with a special interest in claims involving catastrophic injuries. He deals with cases involving accidents at work, road traffic accidents, public liability claims, slips and trips, and claims against Highway Authorities.
Over the years, he has successfully represented hundreds of clients and has achieved settlements in excess of a million pounds. He is a strong negotiator and has taken many claims from the outset right the way through to final court hearings, providing expert legal advice along the way.
Catastrophic injuries
Nick has a wealth of experience dealing with clients who have suffered life changing injuries, including cases where clients have suffered lost limbs, traumatic brain injuries and serious fractures.
He understands the impact these injuries can have on clients and their families, so assists not only by securing compensation but also with rehabilitation needs. This can include prosthetics, home adaptations and employment retraining.
Agriculture
The agricultural industry is recognised as one of the most dangerous in the UK. With this in mind, Nick is a passionate advocate of farm safety and helps the firm’s campaign to support farmers and their employees better understand the dangers involved with working on a farm.
He has helped numerous clients over the years who have been involved in agricultural accidents which, due to the nature of the work, can often lead to life changing injuries.
Military
Nick is passionate about supporting our armed forces personnel, veterans and their families and, throughout his career, has acted for many injured service personnel to bring claims against the MoD.
He is an active member of our military sector and is proud of the full range of tailored legal services the firm offers to the armed forces community.
Nick joined the firm in 2006 and went on to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive. He then qualified as a solicitor in 2018 and became a partner of the firm in 2023.
Outside of work, Nick is a governor at Banovallum School in Horncastle.
